GRP / FRP Piping Systems

EPC INDIA manufactures (GRP / FRP) glassfibre reinforced pipes and fittings with its EPC INDIA brand piping systems for the chemical and process industry. Piping systems are available in a variety of standard diameters ranging from 15 to 2000 mm. Piping systems are tailor made as per the required pressure rating from gravity to 300PSI. EPC INDIA offers pipe and fittings to meet all national and international standards depending on the area and application.

High Purity Pipe, Fittings and Valves

High purity thermoplastic piping systems have evolved to satisfy the stringent demands of the chemical pharmaceutical and semi conductor industries.

PVDF (Poly Vinyli Dene Flouride) has become the material of choice for UPW distribution systems, thanks to its level of purity, surface characteristics and pressure temperature capabilities.

PolyPure (Natural Polypropylene) is a natural unpigmented polypropylene offering good chemical resistance and excellent weldability. Polypure is most suitable for use in less critical UPW systems up to 50ºC where great demands are placed upon chemical resistance.

High purity polypropylene (HP-PP) systems are especially suitable for applications in the chemical and semi conductor industries. UPW reclaim systems, cold and hot UPW piping, as well as drain and waste systems are ideal applications for HP-PP.

PVC-U Pipes, Valves and PVC-U Pipe Fittings

Unplasticised Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC-U) is the most widely used of all plastics used for pipe installations. It is rigid, versatile, and is suitable for both above or below ground installations.

It has excellent chemical resistance which, when combined with smoothness of bore, eliminates build up of scale and gives good flow characteristics. It is odourless and tasteless, and is suitable for conveying potable water and many food or dairy products.

PVC-U is suitable for use at temperatures from 0ºC to 60ºC at a wide range of operating pressures, depending upon the system chosen. It is lightweight and easy to install, using cold solvent welded joints which require no special tools.

PVC-C Pipes, Valves and PVC-C Pipe Fittings

Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC-C) is a modified PVC with additional high temperature strength. It has been developed to handle hot, corrosive liquids at working temperatures up to 100ºC, whilst offering the ease of installation of cold solvent welded jointing.

PVC-C is inert to many mineral acids, bases, salts, paraffinic hydrocarbons, halogens and alcohols. It will not support combustion and is rated as self extinguishing. The low thermal conductivity of the material reduces moisture condensation on water lines, and will maintain the temperature of fluids with minimal insulation.

With a similar working temperature range to polypropylene, PVC-C has greater rigidity and lower thermal expansion, making it particularly suitable for above ground process pipe work.

ABS Pipes, Valves and ABS Pipe Fittings

Acrylonitrile - Butadiene - Styrene (ABS) is a rigid pressure piping system renowned for its high impact strength and durability which combine to give exceptional toughness.

It is suitable for use over a wide temperature range from -40ºC to 80ºC at pressures up to 15 bar. ABS is especially useful at sub zero temperatures, where it retains high levels of impact strength.

ABS piping is resistant to a wide range of abrasive slurries which can damage steel or other pipe materials. It is non-toxic and taint free, and is in widespread use for food products, soft drinks and high purity water.

ABS pipe systems are lightweight, rigid, and easy to install. Joints are made using solvent cement, which requires no special tools.

Polypropylene (PP) Pipe, Fittings, Valves

Polypropylene (PP) piping systems are widely used in industrial processing. Light in weight yet with high impact strength and reliable heat fusion welding, PP also offers good abrasion resistance and is a good thermal and electrical insulator.

PP is suitable for working use at temperatures up to 90ºC, and withstand short term use at a maximum 110ºC.

Chemical resistance is excellent: PP is resistant to aqueous solutions of acids, alkalis and salts, and to a large number of organic solvents.

PP systems are assembled using heat fusion welding, using socket ended fittings, butt fusion of pipes and/or fittings end to end, and electrofusion fittings. Welding equipment is available for sale or hire.

Polyethylene Pipe, Fittings, Valves

Polyethylene Pipe, Fittings, Valves Polyethylene is now in wide spread use for industrial pipework systems, as well as for buried gas and water pipelines, where it is the dominant material.

One of the major benefits is that Polyethylene is virtually unbreakable due to impact at temperatures above 5ºC, and remains very tough at temperatures as low as -40ºC. It is also exceptionally resistant to abrasion, and will out last steel or other hard materials in most slurry handling applications.

Polyethylene is relatively low in weight, and its flexibility makes it suitable for temporary pipelines which are lain on rough ground or where buried in unstable ground conditions.

It has very good chemical resistance, and will with stand most acids and caustic substances. It is insoluble in all organic and inorganic solvents at 20ºC, but it will not resist strong oxidising acids.

Polyethylene is joined by heat, and both socket fusion, butt fusion welding and electrofusion equipment is available for sale or hire.

PVDF Pipes, Valves and PVDF Pipe Fittings

Polyvinlidene Fluoride (PVDF) is a unique thermoplastic with properties which allow it to be used for very aggressive or highly specialised applications. Although expensive compared to other thermoplastics, PVDF offers an economically attractive alternative to many "exotic" materials and / or in process lines where limited working life of other materials necessitates frequent replacement.

PVDF has excellent chemical and physical properties, even at low temperatures, and has considerable resistance to abrasion. It is resistant to most of the inorganic acids and bases, and to aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, organic acids, alcohols and halogenated solvents. It is also non-toxic and can be used for high purity applications.

Safe working temperatures range from -40ºC to +120ºC, with short term use possible at temperatures well above this level.

PVDF pipe systems are assembled using heat fusion welding, either using socket fittings or butt fusion of pipes and/or fittings end to end. Welding equipment is available for sale or hire and is featured in the installation tools section.

Compressed Air Pipe, Fittings, Valves

Corrosion and scaling are common problems with traditional compressed air piping systems. It causes contamination and reduced flow, requiring increased energy to deliver constant pressure.

AGRUAIR is a unique system which will not corrode and provides high impact strength.

Manufactured from blue coloured PE100, the system is lightweight, easy to handle, and installation is simple and secure using standard socket fusion welding. The material is resistant to all common products found in factory environments. The clean nature of the compressed air piping also makes it suitable for areas where purity is important, such as in foodstuffs or pharmaceutical production.

Installed in a fraction of the time of metal systems, AGRUAIR systems can solve many of the problems usually associated with compressed air.

Supports & Fixings for Plastic Piping Systems

Thermoplastic piping systems are often installed in corrosive environments, particularly in chemical and process applications. In these situations, traditional metalic supports will suffer excessive degradation unless they are manufactured from expensive stainless steel. A more cost effective chioce is to use non-metallic fixings from the ranges featured here

Clic pipe clamps are designed for fixing a wide rage of piping materials and cables, and they can be used on almost any diameter from 8mm to 127mm. Manufactured in nylon (Polyamide PA12), they are safe for use at temperatures from -40ºC to +80ºC.
